In the first reading Isaiah God has called the Prophet by name before birth. With Isaiah we are brought back to Advent, waiting for Jesus to be born. It seems right for us to take a look at the beginning of Jesus’ life, the anticipation that Mary had waiting for her time.
We can reflect at our own times when we anticipated our own child’s births. We, like Mary, think about our children’s future. It makes me think about how much Mary knew of her son’s future. She was a young woman, barely out of her teens, how much did she know.
Many of us where young women, we were naïve, innocent to what the world has for us, how to be a mother. Did Mary look at her little boy and feel overwhelmed by all that was ahead of her, ahead for him.
