Be made clean

Mommy Mantra for June 29, 2013: Matthew 8: 2-3 And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said, “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.” He stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, “I will do it. Be made clean.” His leprosy was cleansed immediately

I have been trying to remember if anyone who ever approached Jesus was turned away…never not that I can think of, but of those who did come to him they were timid and fearful.

It got me thinking about when we met our idols. Our youngest twinnie is a HUGE Redwings fan and we had the opportunity to met Chelios. She was flustered as she stood in line to met him, and I imagine that is how those who went to Jesus must have felt. But I wonder how Jesus was reacting to their emotional state. Was he like Chelios semi annoyed at all the adoration? Or did Jesus put his hand on their shoulder give them a gentle but firm reassuring touch? Did He met their timid gaze with his warm smiling eyes that told them everything was going to be alright?

  1. This is a great insight to this story! Good word. I expect that like John when we next stand before Jesus there will be little ‘standing’ going on.

Thanks for the link back – I appreciate it.
