Mommy Mantra for October 10, 2012: “I opposed him to his face because he clearly was wrong.” (Galatians 2:11)

Now Paul had the reputation for being a bit of hot head: speak first apologize later. In the first reading today Paul and Peter go at it tooth and nail. Now Peter may have needed to be *corrected* but Paul didn’t have to fly off the handle and let EVERYBODY in on the discussion! Peter must have felt very open, vulnerable, attacked.

Paul being the hot head that he is; shot off his mouth without thinking of where he was or HOW he was saying what he needed to say.

Should Paul have waited for a better time to confront Pete? Of course!

The lesson for moms: cooler heads prevail and get the point across better, but if you get caught up in the moment, its OK….just be willing to ask for forgiveness
